Name: Richard Garza Occupation: Retail Manager Email: Ric2fen@aol.com City/State: San Antonio, Texas spouse/children: Wife- Yolanda Sons-David /Sergio Daughters-Angela /Ashley Hobbies: There is no bigger natural high than hiking and camping in the mountains. Since high school : I couldn't wait to get out of Corpus Christi and on with my life. I took the first job offer out of town with remember "Grandy's" restaurant on Corona. I moved to San Antonio, TX and loved it there. Diverse community in the hub of Texas - what more could you ask for? I found my first wife soon after moving to San Antonio. She was a military brat and soon stories of the military had me enlisting in the Army. I went to Ft.Leonardwood, MO and Ft. Irwin, CA on active duty. In California we lived on base which was surrounded by mountains in the Mojave Desert. It was beautiful, and close to family in Los Angeles, CA. Traveled up and down the west coast as far north as Oregon and south as San Diego while there. Visited nearby Las Vegas, NV regularly. Became an avid rollercoaster rider while there with all the amusement parks.
Left the military after Desert Storm to go to college in San Antonio (which I missed intensely). This was my second attempt at college which went well this time as far as grades went. But, unfortunately family pressures and obligations cut it short after 2 years. I quit the Reserves, and took up with my part-time job at Kmart making it a 10 year career as an Operations Manager until Mark Swartz from Walmart threw the company into bankruptcy. By this time, the wife had enough of this work-a-holic and we parted.
After some uncomfortable blind dates and set-ups, I resigned myself to be single and date only who I choose. Well, along came Yolanda with her 3 kids and I found love again. I love Yoli but the kids really won me over. I still struggled with "marriage" after a bad break-up so we dated forever. After Kmart, I went to AutoZone warehouse in San Antonio, TX and loved it there. I had 3-day weekends every week and before you know it we were talking of marriage. We bought a house together and everything was going great. After a couple of years we tied the knot. But tragedy struck again...
AutoZone relocated it's warehouse to Dallas and I had to look for work again. I fell back on Retail Management because it is fun. I forgot however that it is also personal time consuming. I took up with the Factory 2-U chain under new ownership. I have moved up quickly but it is intense and there is not quality of life. I fear looking again, but I am not going to sacrifice another marriage. Wish us luck....
